Warning Lamps and Indicators

The instrument cluster located on your Lincoln's dashboard is equipped with warning lamps and indicators that allow you to easily monitor your vehicle’s condition and control settings. Upon starting your vehicle, you may see some of these indicators light up as a routine check to verify functionality. These lights may simply be indicating a vehicle control setting, e.g., Front Fog Lamps On. If certain indicators were to remain illuminated while your engine is running, however, they could be alerting you to a serious condition. To take the guesswork out of interpreting these signals, scroll down to our visual glossary, which displays the full array of warning lamp and indicator symbols, and defines their function.

Know when to change your engine oil

Changing your engine oil and filter at appropriate intervals helps maintain your vehicle. Clean oil lubricates your engine, and is necessary to help protect your engine, and ensure its proper function. Without this periodic service, the resulting metal-on-metal contact could cause severe damage.

How to add motor oil

Motor oil is your engine’s lifeblood. It lubricates the internal parts, so the engine can run smoothly and efficiently.

Because your engine needs a certain amount of oil to run right, you should check your vehicle’s oil level every time you fill up the fuel tank.

Follow these steps to check and add motor oil. For additional information about motor oil, check your owner’s manual.

Guide to keys

Lincoln keys do much more than unlock doors and start engines. They’re also equipped with a variety of advanced time-saving features. From the peace of mind offered by setting responsible driving limits to the convenience of remote keyless entry, this guide details how to make the most of your keys’ amenities.

Guide to towing

Towing a trailer can help you work harder, and it can make playing more fun too. But if you’re thinking about buying a trailer or a tow vehicle, there are a few things to consider.

You’ll need to find out if your vehicle is able to tow, what its tow rating is, and which hitches work with it.

You should think about what you’ll be towing, how big the trailer should be, and what equipment you’ll need.

And you’ll need to understand how towing changes your vehicle’s handling, stopping, and overall performance.

That’s a lot to think about, which is why this Towing Guide was created. And your local Lincoln Dealership will be happy to answer any questions you might have as well.
