Did you know that your vehicle may be equipped with a unique feature that can help avoid a potential collision while you’re driving in Reverse?

Backing up just got a lot less stressful. Available Reverse Brake Assist can detect both stationary and moving objects behind your vehicle – alerting you to potential hazards like garage pillars and distracted pedestrians. Not only that, it can apply the brakes if you don’t stop in time. The system can even detect vehicles crossing your path behind you at up to 37 mph.*

Keep in mind that the system isn’t perfect! There are some instances where unexpected automatic reverse braking may occur, such as if the lighting is too low or the background scenery is too complex for the system to recognize an object. If this happens, override the system by continuing to press the accelerator pedal or completely switch the system OFF.

Note: Reverse Brake Assist only functions when in Reverse, traveling approximately one to seven miles per hour and Cross-Traffic Alert is ON.
