How Do I Use Phone As A Key When Using Valet for My Vehicle?

Phone As A Key works like your vehicle’s key fob to lock/unlock doors, remotely start/stop your vehicle and more through the Lincoln Way™ app on your smartphone. You can access it all even when your fob isn’t with you.

HOW TO ACTIVATE PHONE AS A KEY

Enjoy the convenience of valet parking with your Phone As A Key.

Just a few simple steps and you can leave parking to the professionals.

  1. Open “Valet Mode” in the Settings menu of your SYNC® screen. Your SYNC screen will display a temporary valet passcode. If your smartphone is with you, a notification will be sent. If the PAAK-enabled phone is not found, you’ll be prompted to enter your backup start passcode, then a valet passcode will be generated and displayed on your SYNC screen.

  2. Write down the passcode on the ticket and give it to the attendant.

  3. Lock the vehicle’s door by pressing 7/8 and 9/0 simultaneously on the black-plated door trim just above the driver’s side door handle outside the vehicle. (To activate the keypad, swipe with your hand on the black-plated door trim just above the driver’s side door handle.)

  4. To unlock the vehicle’s door, the valet should enter the first five digits of the temporary passcode on the keyless entry keypad on the driver’s side door.

  5. In order to start the vehicle, the SYNC screen will ask the valet to enter all eight digits of the temporary passcode.

  6. Once the valet delivers your vehicle back to you, your SYNC screen will display an “Exit Valet Mode” button and will scan for the virtual key. The temporary passcode is then deleted, and you can use your Phone As A Key as usual. If the PAAK virtual key is not found, you’ll be prompted to enter your backup start passcode.
